Virasat actress Pooja Batra marries Tiger Zinda Hai actor Nawab Shah after five months of dating

Pooja said that their families were asking why they were delaying but once she knew she wanted to spend her life with Nawab, there was no point in delaying it.

Days after Pooja Batra and Nawab Shah tied the knot in a secret wedding, the photos from the low-key but classy ceremony are out.

Meanwhile, Pooja Batra shared a picture of herself and her husband Nawab Shah on her Instagram profile on Tuesday and she captioned it: "'Thank you for all your good wishes and blessing".

Pooja, who is known for her roles in the nineties hits such as Haseena Maan Jaayegi, Nayak and Virasat, took to her Instagram stories, where she shared a photograph of her wedding with Nawab. In fact, I tell her we have less time together as we took some time to get married. However, the duo were re-introduced by a common friend in February, following which they 'hit off instantly.' She adds that they made a decision to take the plunge since both the actors are "emotionally and intellectually compatible". We didn't want to think about it too much and delay it (marriage) any further.

He said, "One has to be ready to experience something like this, and I guess, Pooja and I were in that space". She confirms that after marriage, she plans to spend more time in India and take up work in the country.

Further revealing what qualities she likes in him Pooja had said, "I have always respected and liked Nawab, and this time around, I was open to the idea of getting to know him better. Eventually, he proposed to me in Delhi, and again when he came to meet my parents with his family".

For her wedding ceremonies, Pooja chose to keep her bridal look subtle and opted for a light make-up.

She wore a green saree, a pink, embroidered blouse along with a pink-red-orange dupatta, while the Tiger Zinda Hai actor complemented her with his beige color kurta-pyjama and navy blue pagdi.

In the other photo, perhaps from their reception, the newlyweds opted for silver-colored traditional wear.

To recall, news of Pooja-Nawab's secret wedding came to light after the 42-year-old was spotted wearing chooda (bangles traditionally worn by a Punjabi bride) in her recent pictures.

Also, Nawab's boomerang video on Instagram featuring a man's hand wearing a ring, and a woman's hand wearing chooda gave some hints.

The actor captioned it as, "A story you can make a movie on."

While confirming the news, Pooja said that she married Nawab when she "realized that he's the man I want to spend the rest of my life with."

"I knew of Nawab since we were in the same profession. However, we strongly connected after we were reintroduced by a common friend this February. We were in the same space emotionally and hit it off instantly."

Nawab wanted to marry Pooja "right after our first meeting"

Nawab, meanwhile, admitted that he wanted to marry Pooja "right after our first meeting."

"When I reconnected with her, a relationship wasn't on my mind. However, at this stage, you feel the void. Pooja entered my life like sunshine and I was sure that I wanted to spend my life with her. It was as if we were destined to be together," he added.
