Day 4 of Style Fashion Week brought us the sleek, contemporary, futuristic, and structural designs displayed by Atlaf Maaneshia's line of elegance. Maaneshia has a natural gift to be a designer who is Indian born and raised in Pakistan. Now based in New York where his collection was shown at New York Mercedes Benz and recently shown at Los Angeles Style Fashion Week March 12, 2014. Maaneshia went to the Asian Institute of Fashion Design in Karachi, where he graduated from with great design aesthetics. His next platform was his studies in Polimoda, Italy where he received a Masters in Fashion Trends, Merchandising and Applied Studies in International Fashion Management.

This night of sophisticated silhouettes was not his first time showing at Style Fashion Week. In this moment Pooja Batra, famous Bollywood actress and model, was one of the models that walked the runway with ease. Now the design aesthetics of this collection for Fall 2014 has transitioned and flourished into a sleek contemporary mix of futuristic characteristics of a trendy but edgy sleek woman.

Intricate designs of the line showed beautifully constructed trousers, slim leather pants with zipper details at the thigh, and skirts ranging from neutral colors. The line captured many in the room with his structural dresses and harness top, mink furs and metallic belts that were a simple staple piece of the collection. We also saw flowy tops to allow any woman to feminize and refine herself in light cream and forest green. The opulence of the runway continued throughout the show with rich color palettes of forest green, camel sand, bone, coal blacks, rush of blue, and earl grey gracing the night.

Most of her contemporaries today are nowhere to be seen but former Bollywood actress Pooja Batra continues to steal the limelight not just in India but abroad as well.

The actress who failed to create a mark in Bollywood decided to get married and settle down in USA but she had been reckoning her appearances from time to time.

Pooja is again wooing the crowd with her stunning red carpet appearances and runway shows not in Indian but in LA.

Recently at the Los Angeles Fashion Week, Pooja left the audience awestruck when she walked as the showstopper for designer Altaf Maneeshia.

Her Bollywood career includes movies like, Viraasat, Bhai, Haseena Maan Jayegi, Jodi No 1, and Taj Mahal.

Former beauty queen and Bollywood actress Pooja Batra recently strutted the ramp, as the show stopper for designer Altaf Maneeshia at the LA Fashion Week.

Talking about her experience, Batra said, ''It is a fantastic experience to be here on stage after such a long time doing the ramp in LA Fashion Week. I am reminded of my modelling days.''

When asked about her future plans, she said, ''I have partnered with Ash Gupta one of the most renowned Fashion Photographers in LA to open a company called ARCH Entertainment.''

Pooja was last seen on-screen in a cameo appearance in 2011 release Hum Tum Shabana.

Though there has been buzz about Pooja and not everything being okay with her marriage, the Viraasat actress is staying put in the US. Walking the ramp, she feels, come naturally to her as she started off as a model.

Pooja is planning to set up an entertainment company in LA and for now there are no plans to be back in Mumbai.

Pooja Batra, the former beauty queen who romanced actor Anil Kapoor in the film Virasat, was spotted at not one but two events on Sunday (July 7, 2013) in Mumbai.

Pooja won the Miss India Asia-Pacific title in 1993 and made a minor splash in Bollywood with films like Virasat and Haseena Maan Jaayegi. Last seen in a cameo in the 2011 film Hum Tum Shabana, Pooja has been missing from the Bolly-scene since she married Los Angeles based orthopedic surgeon Dr Sonu Ahluwalia in 2002. In 2011, she filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

We hope to see Pooja and her beautiful smile on-screen once again.

Long legged beauty Pooja Batra seems to be following in Madhuri Dixit’s footsteps. The actor shifted base to the US after getting married in 2003.  However, things didn’t work out and Pooja filed for divorce in 2011 before she returned to Mumbai. Now we hear that the model-turned-actor, who made a promising debut with the Anil Kapoor-Tabu starrer Viraasat, is getting ready to play out her second innings in Bollywood.

Washington, D.C: In continuing the tradition of bringing renowned and quality artists, producers, directors and films from South Asia right to the heart of the capital city, Ceasar Productions kicked off the 2013 DC South Asian Film Festival (DCSAFF) 2013 on May 10-12 in Washington DC.  The organizers aim was to provide South Asian filmmakers from around the world a chance to exhibit their films to the diverse cine-going audience of the nation's capital. This year, in keeping with the theme “Experience different cultures through films”, DCSAFF brought together a wide variety of films from across South Asia which included films in Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, and Telegu.

The festival kicked-off on Friday night with an exclusive opening night Red Carpet Gala which was well attended by the media and fans that were eager to get a glimpse and mingle with their favorite stars. The event began with a spectacular fashion show that warmed up the audience and set the stage for the grand entrance of a number of renowned and accomplished Bollywood stars that included: Farooq Sheikh, Sarita Joshi, Sanjay Suri, Pooja Batra, Meher Jaffri, and others. Farooqji who has made major contribution in Parallel Cinema or the New Indian Cinema exuded the same charm that has made him a household name in India and overseas. He is the recipient of the 2010 National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for “Lahore”. He has also acted in several successful films such as “Shatranj Ke Khiladi” (1977), “Noorie” (1979), “Chashme Buddoor” (1981) and “Kissi Se Na Kahana” (1983).  The guests were also delighted to exchange pleasantries with veteran actress Sarita Joshi who has made her mark in Indian stage, television, and cinema. Ms. Joshi is best known for portraying a rough yet fair matriarch in the household hit serial “Baa Bahoo Aur Baby”. Ms. Joshi also portrayed Abhishek Bachchan’s mother in “Guru” which was directed by filmmaker Mani Ratnam.  Sanjay Suri and Pooja Batra also graciously acquiesced to fan’s requests for photographs.

In fact when asked about her experience at Wharton School of Business and her social media insights she said, "I got on the SMO band wagon reluctantly not even 3 years ago. I remember my friend Sanjiv Sharma from Optimystix who forced me to open my twitter account saying that it is very necessary to have one. I realized its importance and yes that is why I went to Wharton willingly to share my knowledge on the same. In fact soon after I gave a lecture, I had students tweeting to me and saying 'Thank You' for the lecture."
